Unfortunately, they won’t leave your screen the only way to remove them is to take them out.

Twitch video delivery (HLS streaming) is completely separate from chat (IRC/TMI), so simply watching the stream counts as a view through the video player connection alone, and you don’t need to send messages or even connect to chat at all to be counted as a viewer.
